    1/12 My First CARP!!!!!!

Went bass fishing and saw a bunch of bread floating along the shoreline and kept seeing swirls and thinking it was Nile tilapia but when I got bread and first cast it was all HUGE Carp! When I got it close to the shoreline I grabbed the leader and the hook bent. Then Troy and Jake came and I hooked up with another one but bigger! Braught this one up for a beautiful picture.

Carp are fun to catch! They are biggest non-meat eaters in our waters. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Commision put them in to control the growth of the weeds in the canal system. If ya want to catch a bigger one, wait for a Ficus tree over the water to start producing berry's, man when they drop in the water, it is like rich mans food too them! They all attack a berry that is the size of a marble. And yes they can bend a hook, tear up a lite rod and smoke a fly reel! Nice catch there Jrod, T'iss the season.
