I think it was that boat. My brother caught the 115 lb YFT and he did say a 40 lb Hoo was caught. Amazing. How did you know?

On my first fishing trip ever (....in fact, first time I ever touched a
fishing rod!!!), I reeled in this gem. Largest fish caught in Bermuda
this
year! And if we would have been in the World Cup Blue Marlin Tournament
this past weekend, we would have won by a landslide (the largest Marlin
caught was 773 lbs in Hawaii).

Blue Marlin
Weight: 1049 lbs
Length: 11 feet
Girth: 78 inches
2.5 hours to reel in (although it felt like forever!!!)

Here are a few pictures to give you some perspective (I have plenty
more!).
I should probably retire as I'm sure I will never beat this!

First of all....congrats James and crew. Secondly, why do you say you should not have run the rope through the gills? She ain't no grander, but here is the 637 lbr. that won the lil ole Swansboro Tournament back in may....we ran the rope through her gills....it this not such a good idea?
