GOT IT!

So the update we all wanted. Tonite, bout 2 miles from reaching our new well, the tuna and dolphins could be found in the wave!

Weather conditions were perfect. Winds and Seas out of the East now that the cold front has passed. Total of 4.5 knots of current (forward velocity and surface current combined) dead ahead...

The dolphins started first, with the tuna moving in after. And the were HOGANS. Saw one of the biggest yellowfin Ive ever seen in the Gulf tonite.
Since it was hard to get the action on camera, we came up with a solution... Cut the hooks of a big wooden popper, and hucked it off the lee side out about 150ft... Wind like hell and BAAAAAM! It is Sweet.

I am in the process of loading the still shots, but the video may need to wait till I get off in 9 days. Seems we dont have the bandwidth out here.

Arite. These are the tuna riding sub surface on the wave. Upon first look over the side, most people out here thought it was something spilled over board. About 15-20 fish swimming just sub surface.

this one has i think 3 or four fish in the shot. stacked on top of each other

I have more, these were taken at about 515pm... the video you can see them rolling as they ride along the wave.

The next ones are the best stills I could manage that showed impacts. Taken just after dark.

First one is a tuna (the large white explosion) and a flyer that he cold cocked (up and to the right)

All of these shots were taken from the starboard bridge wing. Approx 80 to 100 feet off the water.
sorry the quality kinda sucks. the video will be loaded soon as I get off of here. no where near the bandwidth necessary out here.

OK...just a few questions...from above tunas do not shine like that so are these fish swimming on their sides? I'm beginning to think this is like a UFO spotting...shady photos is all we have as proof?!?!?!

I want to believe DAMNIT...but show me some real footage...so far i'm not convinced...the video should put the proof back in the pudding but those photos don't convince me yet...if i'm going to draw flack from the commander on a cruise ship for flying a kite off his bow i'm going to need some concrete evidence...cough it up counsel...
