Possible New World Record Blue Marlin on 80 lb.

Here's a behemoth pacific blue, caught in Rodrigues...by Stepphan Kreupl with Germany IGFA representative on board...for a potential world record / 80lbs line class. More details to follow as I receive them.

Weight ; 1238 lbs
Date : 01/30/07
Technique : lure / stand up
Line : 80 lbs
Angler : KREUPL Stephan
Boat : Black Marlin
Place : Rodrigues Island

Looks like it will most likely get the 80 lb. record as there was an IGFA rep observing. I'm still waiting to hear what lure they caught her on.

The lure was a Williamson Big Blue Cavitator, I believe - obviously in Wasp colours or similiar !

If its a big blue cavitator, it reminded me of that 1112 lbs. 14oz. blue marlin the red and black big blue caught as well

looks kinda wierd though, the picture might got mirrored, the darker side of the lure is the one thats on the bottom, as well as the "stripes" in the lure head
