Best thing about this site

is the unique ability to feel like you went fishing in Rodriques when you have no idea where in the hell that is. Somewhere in the Indian Ocean-- does that make this an Indian Ocean Blue Marlin? Wow what a catch. Congratulation to all.

hodx,

Everyone's entitled to their own opinions. I'm certainly not going to knock your opinion, I respect it. It's a personal decision that one has to make with a fish on the line. I think it's premature to say that the fish was wasted without knowing anymore details.

I always tell myself that I'd release a fish like that, but you never know the condition of the fish when you finally bring her to the boat, etc. Things happen during the battle that can severely hamper a fish's ability to survive.

It's a terrific angling achievement and we shouldn't take away from Stephan Kreupl's angling feat. My congratulations to Stephan, Captain Yann and the Rodrigues Fishing Club.

Jason

No Negatives on this Board! There are plenty other boards that allow the negativity but SF is a No Negatives Zone!!!

My 2 cents.

JV - it's a blue homey. The boat's called Black Marlin, but their shirts are actually red.

You're right Alltackle, I had a weak moment and decided to take the low road. Felt bad for the potential world record holder I guess. Tried to keep
it on the lighter side of a full thrashing, but I hear 'ya..you're right!
