combo set

hello everybody,its long time im not visit this site..too busy.
i need opinion about combo set.
recently i checked in internet i found there are a lot combo set.
reels is good but rod im not confident about quality and brand or maybe
there is not enough info about that rod.

another thing nowadays there are a lot and a lot of reels that made from
china.some info said even penn,shimano are made from there for some
reason.

anybody can help me is it worth buy combo set?
and where and which online store that offer good combo set.

You can't go wrong with an Avet reel/Melton International Rod combo set...

If it is important to you:
Penn, Accurate and Avet are all good reels that are made in the USA.
Match either of them with a Melton Kona custom rod and your looking good.

Melton Rods are produced in CA and are a better quality and cost less than the majors producing rods in China (which makes buying the rod a no brainer). I think some of the simple rods that are mass produced (for Salmon, Bass, Muskie etc..) are a worthwhile value for the price from China, but offshore tackle is much different because of the various types of blanks and components required to build a quality rod...Stick with U.S. assembled products here.

On the reels Accurate not only handles all of their own assembly, but they produce the parts in house as well starting with a single billet of aluminum to machine the reel frame. Their big game reels cost more for this very reason(and are well worth it), Avet assembles all their own equipment (in CA), but I don't know if they make all their own parts or have them made outside. Some of their reels are very good and competitively priced.

Shimano and Penn assemble their own reels and have parts made outside, but Shimano has a larger more sophisticated engineering department for product development and manufacting which shows in their products. There is a very good value for your dollar with Shimano and their customer service in the U.S. is excellent. This is quite the opposite at Penn right now, they're engineering, manufacturing and expertise of days gone bye are all wanting right now and they're struggling with all the intercompany transitions and a significant loss of experience in big game tackle.

Keeping all this engineering and manufacturing in mind is important, but the funny thiing is when you pick up rods and reels, you can still feel the difference in quality equipment (espcially when comparing), I suggest you get hands on the one you want and make sure it feels right for the type of fishing you want to do...

thanks guys for all the info.
what im worried nowadays a lot of popular brand made in thailand,china.
maybe because of labour is cheap,material and many other important cost.
like me im not stay in US.in my place to find original made are difficult.
tackle store prefer to sell made in thailand and china and sell same price
as original ones.

even i stay far away but i prefer to get advice from you guys because
of knowledge and expertise.

avet reels and seeker rods.....between the two companies you will be able to find exactly what you want and it will be top quality gear
