The wife and I had a night away from the kids a little while back. So we decided to hit dinner and a movie. We saw The Rite with Anthony Hopkins, Good but not silence of the lambs good.

For dinner we went to Tokyo in Rio Grande for Sushi as they are one of the best in Cape May County. Kuishimbo's is very good also but they are not open in the winter and they have gotten a bit predictable. The menu hasn't changed much.

I stopped at canals, close by and picked up a Sophia Riesling from Francis Coppolla's vineyard. Grown in Monterrey County California

I must say I was pleasantly rewarded with my choice.
This was a wine with great fruit, apricots and apple flavor, a touch of pineapple, not to sweet with a touch of dry but pleasant acidity.
Matched very nicely with the spicy tuna rolls, the spices opened up the taste buds and the wine gave up its fruits.

I would recommend this wine for those that are not into dry white wines, but it is not that sweet either.

Here is Coppolla's info on the wine:
The grapes for this wine were grown in the cool vineyards of Monterey County where moderate daytime temperatures and prevailing fog lengthen the growing season by causing the grapes to ripen more slowly.
