No no no no I'm not talking about the incredible tasting whiskey here, I'm talking about the incredible tasting bird. Here's the deal.
-Kill a wild turkey (making sure you have licenses tags and obey all the rules).
-Pluck all the feathers from neck to ****. You can pluck the entire bird if you wish to use the entire bird but for this recipe only the breast meat is needed.
- Carefully slice open the skin from the breast bone and peel back
- Next, fillet out each breast.
- Cut each breast in half the long way (horizontally) so you have four thinner fillets
- slice each piece into 6 or 7 strips and set aside
batter
For the batter I prefer to use 1 part general purpose flour and 1 part high gluten flour. Add a generous amount of garlic powder, cayenne pepper, a pinch of black pepper and a pinch of salt
Finally, flour the turkey tenders and fry in oil. Serve with barbecue sauce. ENJOY!!!
