    Tuna recipes

I caught my first bluefin last month and love eating it. I could have it every day. My parents, on the other hand, don't I usually end up cooking the tuna for myself while they have somthing else.

My question is, what are some recipes that my parents may like? It's kind of tough to eat a tuna single handed.

Thanks in advance guys, and I will be commencing a search shortly. If you have some good ones that aren't up, post them up here. Maybe something for a non-fish eater (they like fish, just not tuna?)

Also, if you have something for someone who likes tuna, I'd really like to try something new and exciting!!

I guess you are past the sushi stage

BFT is a bit oilier than YFT, so I can't really promise that these will carry over...

Grilled - mix 1/8 cup sesame oil, 1/8 cup teryaki, 1/4 cup Olive oil together. Pour over tuna steaks, let sit for 1/2 hr, then grill...

Broiled - take a tuna steak (about 1 inch thick), slice into the side to make a pocket, stuff with lump blue crab meat
brush with olive oil, sprinkle with your favorite steak rub.

I can't promise your parents will like them, but I bet you will.

    Nice. Thanks.

Yeah, just a bit past the sushi stage. It was good that day on the boat, and for a week after. Then the dreaded freezer came along

Although technically I guess sashimi is supposed to be frozen for a week or whatever blah blah blah. I just want it to taste good

    Thanks for the help

Grilled or Pan seared. coat tuna with olive oil. Mix some back and white sesame seeds in a saucer and put filets in and press meat onto the seeds and grill or pan sear.

you can also use an asian hot sauce and coat the fish and then pan sear.

I like slicing the tuna into thin strips and putting it over a salad.

In costa Rica several years ago I got a tuna dish where the tuna was cooked rare. The dish came in a bowl and in the bopttom was sticky rice followed by some steamed spinach,a layer of tuna, another thin layer of sticky rice with steamed spinach followed by layer of tuna. It had a dressing on it that tasted like a sweet sesame ginger.
