O.k. everybody probably knows this one but what the hell![]()
take your tuna filets (fresh caught please)
Heat an IRON pan with oil covering the bottom barely on high heat. Pick your ownd oil, we use virgin olive oil because my wife likes olive oil and I like virgins![]()
Anyway get a plate and cover it lightly with blackening redfish majic...several people make it, but the redfish majic one is my favorite.
Put one side of the tuna filets in the redfish majic and then put them coated side down in the hot IRON pan. Sear for about 1 - 1/2 minutes, just until they cook about 1/8 or 1/4 through depending on your personal preference.
take them out of IRON pan and put them un coated side down in a GLASS baking pan that has been coated with a little pam,or butter, or olive oil or whatever so it won;t stick, and put them all into the oven on 350 degrees for about 3-5 minutes ( again to your preference ).
Throw them on top of rice of your choice and some wasabi and soy and WHAMMO!! chow time.
Even though I make it sound complicated it only takes about 7 minutes for the whole process and is spicy and GOOD man...
tastes even better with a 40oz Asahi or a bottle of warm socks..er I mean warm saki![]()
If you are trying to look cool with a date or something, just place rice in a tight mound, put seared tuna on top, throw a couple pieces of lettuce and some ginger on the very top with a little pile of wasabi and drisel soy![]()
Enjoy..
