    Pulled pork?

My wife made some pulled pork at my insistence over the weekend. It was damn good. Got me thinking about different ways to do it, anybody have a favorite recipe?

We slow cooked ours in the oven for 4 hours, then seared it, pulled the meat and mixed in vinegar and hot sauce. Very good, but it might have needed something else

Hickory smoke goes a long way... in a pinch you could use liquid smoke - basically it is "real" distilled smoke...

    come on over!! lol

i will show you how we do it!! get a butt about 8lbs or so.. then you want to rub it, and inject it with any kind of rub you want.. stick it in the smoker at about 220 for about 14 hours until the internal temp is 195 degrees and then pull it out and should be all barked up.

pull it, slice it, string it.. do whatever you want and toss it in some sweet baby rays if you like it or your favorite bbq sauce...

it will be slammin.. and like said above.. either hickory, cherry, oak or anything else you want to use..

i like hickory.. you should get a nice big smoke ring with hickory and low and slow cooking!!

I always marinade pork in cider vinegar for an hour or two before cooking.

Dry rub, slow cook and pull away.

Works great for ribs too. Kansas City cut is my fav. No sauce

Home Depot sells a decent smoker for about $160, I picked one up last year, works very well, kids don't like it tho.

Go to the local bokstore, there are some *very* good BBQ/ Smoker books available.

    Happy Smokin!!!!

Smoke it with some guava wood and then drag the pork through some vinegar and hot sauce mix. I'm drooling now just thinking about it!

    What he said.
Rub it and let sit in the fridge overnight,
Inject it if you want ( never did that).
You can smoke it in a regular grill with multiple burners.
Turn one side on (low) Keep internal grill temp below 250 if possible , Wrap soaked wood chips in tinfoil
Poke a couple hole in it and set above flame.
Doesnt need to smoke for the whole cooking time.
Put pork on opposite side of grill from flame.
Add a drip pan under the roast.
Usually take me about 6-8 hrs.
May not be tourny quailty but goooood.
