Alright Do It Yourself Gardners, Here is a great way tom preserve those chilis you've grown and also add some flavor to the heat.
What You Need:
Enough Chilis to fill your smoker
Bamboo skewers
Hickory chips at least 3 pans full.
10 hours in the smoker
I put three full pans of chips than allow the heat to continue to dry out the peppers.
You can crush them by Hand for pepper flakes or use a food processor to make a fine chili powder. The habaneros have extreme heat so a little goes a long way.
They can be used for Gumbo's, chillis, stews, and any soup or sauce that needs some smoky heat.
MAKE SURE TO USE GLOVES AND TAKE CARE NOT TO RUB ANY OF THE OILS INTO ANY SENSITIVE PORTION OF YOUR BODY.
