Fresh tuna with wasabi & ginger butter

Require very little cooking time, fresh tuna should be served cooked on outside and raw in centre-anything else is a crime.

    2 fresh tuna steaks
    Juice of one lemon
    2tbsp of olive oil
    Milled pepper

    Wasabi-ginger sauce
    3tbsp butter
    1tsp wasabi powder or paste
    1/2tsp minced ginger
    1tbsp finely chopped coriander
    Serves 2

Wipe tuna with damp cloth & set aside
Mix lemon juice, olive oil, pepper and pour over tuna. Set aside
Prepare butter by mixing all ingredients together –WELL
Add more wasabi if you want it SPICY
    Refrigerate butter till needed

Preheat pan and brush with little olive oil.
When SEARLINGLY HOT (smoking) add tuna and cook both sides for 5 minutes.
Don’t over cook MUST be raw inside.
Place tuna on heated plate and top with a dollop of the butter.
Serve with spinach or tatsoi leaves and boiled new potatoes.

    NOTES
    Tuna may be barbequed
Both paste and powder wasabi is suitable.
    Dont over cook!!!

    Enjoy

Sounds great, but 5 minutes sounds like an awful long time...more like 5 to 10 seconds per side.

Too bad I didn't see this a few hours ago.

Cooked boring old sesame crusted seared yellowfin tonight.

This one is next on the list.

    Thanks for sharing.

and 5 min?.....no more than 90 seconds per side for a 1-11/4" thick steak.
