    CAPTAINS CHOWDER

Here is a chowder recipe even a Captain can whip up (Mates included)
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1 pound shoulder rockfish, cut into cubes
1 pound backfin crab meat, (fresh or pasteurized)
    1 pint oysters (your area)
    3 slices bacon
    ½ cup onion, diced (white)
    2 stalks celery, diced
    1 clove garlic
1 10 ounce can Irish potatoes (canned white)
1 8 ounce jar clam juice
    ½ cup white wine
1 quart water (bottled not sea water)
1 can 14½ ounce chicken broth
2 tablespoons parsley (dried or fresh)
    1 10 ounce can tomatoes
1 tablespoons seafood seasoning (your best)
    1 pound bag frozen corn
    1 pound bag frozen carrots
    salt and PEPPER, to taste

In large pot, cook bacon until crisp, set aside, drain grease (I like some grease). In the same pot, saute onion, celery, and garlic until soft. Do not brown. Add remaining ingredients and crumbled bacon. Cook until vegetables are tender, then add seafood. Simmer, grab a shower, crack an ice cold water, log on to Sportfishermen.com and serve.....Flat
