CAPT MARK'S 'CANE-CRUSHER

Another New Orleans favorite. Got hooked on these back in college and realized usually two of these bought for "da girl dejor" resulted in a VERY good time had by all...

Pat O'Briens started it all with "The Hurricane", this is just my twist on it since they are tight-lipped about the recipe.

Capt Mark's 'Cane Crusher

1 ounce fresh lemon juice (use a LEMON, not a bottle!)
4 ounces dark rum (I like Appleton's Estate or Cruzan... not SPICED RUM)
4 ounces passion fruit syrup
Crushed ice (not cubes!)
Orange slice
1 Maraschino Cherry
and a few Pineapple wedges for those than need "real-sweet".

In a cocktail shaker, add lemon juice, rum, passion fruit syrup, and crushed ice; shake vigorously for 1 to 2 minutes and then strain into a tall glass or hurricane glass.

Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.

A couple of these and she'll love ya too!

Im with the Shoe on this one...good looking cocktail...I can see myself floating around on the drift in my beamy 21 footer dreaming about bigger boats, living the good life, and sipping one of these.

Mark, another get post. Funny story. In my college days we actually did a class speech on Pat O's. Too bad they didn't let us pass out samples to the other students? I didn't see anything wrong w/ it.
