Ok, this is not the original caipirinha since my dad used vodka instead of cachaça (distilled from sugar cane).
Lemon, sugar, cachaça (or vodka) and ice.

I wonder how this would be with grain alcohol. Can you even buy that stuff anymore? I remember drinking it years ago, didnt have much flavor but you were crawling on the floor and frogetting your name by the endo f the night. Good stuff....the good old days-

this cachaca is either unavailable or hard to find isn't it?
did a wikipedia search on it and they said only 1% of it is exported out of brazil. anyone else know more info on it, i'd be interested in trying it.
you can find it some better brazilean resturants around the bigger cities. I have found it downtown DC but can't remember the name of the place. Their is a big Brazilean group here in Salisbury believe or not. I will hit one of their resturants today and see if I can find a bottle of it.
