    2 Birds for the Holiday?

Wondering if I should give it a try this year for the Bird Holiday. One done traditional and the other either Deep fried or smoked or whatever. I have heard so many good things about frying a Turkey just wanted some options or what everyone else does. One or two and how do you do them?

I live for double dipping. My family is quite the pain in the scuppers with being so over traditional by doing the all day/night bird slow cook. Still, I guess its been almost ten years now that I have busted out my fryer and done a second bird in the prescribed 35 or 40 minutes it takes there. I don't use the recommended peanut oil as my brother is allergic to peanuts so its four gallons of plain ol mazolla corn...
To avoid stepping on mom's tradition I do it a couple days off holiday... Between you me and the fence the fried one comes out far better...

I highly recommend smoked! If you dont have a smoker use a large Weber kettle grill with the smoking rack attachments! Work every time.

I second you Capt-D ... smoke 'em. The wife and I had a contest last year ... her bird vs. mine. Oven vs. smoked. In the end I did too good of a job because now the bird is my responsibility again this year. Used an apple brine off the Virtual Weber Bullet website the night before and smoked with apple wood ... came out perfect!

Let me know if you'd like the brine recipe and I'll dig it out!

    Tight lines!

I've made two Tur-Duck-en the last two Christmas' and yeah I know we're talkin Thanksgiving. Make room on the countertop and bone a turkey, chicken, and duck. Make 3 stuffings, lay it out and stitch it up.

    Viola...heaven on a platter.

I loosely followed Paul Prudholmes instructions.

Came out great both times. Gonna try and find some pics and post em up.

I have done them all three ways Slow cooked Fryed and smoked. By far the smoked was the best, but it was also the most work. I smoked a 22lb bird one Christmas it took over 30 hours in the smoker. But when it was done it was so tender you could eat the bones.

    Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving,

i get two one breast and a whole bird , i deep fry the breast, and the whole bird is soaked in and apple cider brine for two days, then roasted. Comes out great i think it soaks up the sugar in the cider. So they end up being a toss up.

    DON"T HOLD BACK GUYS

Lets see the step by step on the smoken, marinades/injected/brined/sprinkled? I need these details fast I have a 20 pounder that was gonna get deep fried but plans can change I just need to have enough time. I currently own a Brinkman electric smoker so all I need is the instructions from the guys who have done it.
    PLEASE
