Took A Skunking Tonight
Started out tonight with a charter with the wind really honking. We tried working the inside of the south jetty with the spray hitting us from the waves splashing spray over the top of the jetty. Had two strikes without a hookup after working the whole lenght and the wind was brutal. Went to the backbay and worked a couple of leeshore sodbanks for about and hour without a strike or a swirl and decided to call it a early night as it didn't look good and with the high humidity making it almost foggy, high winds and we were wet from the moisture. Had fished in heavier winds and it wasn't all that bad but no sign of action at all. Some days you have to know when quit. First time I ever quit. It just didn't look like it would be a good night and charter rescheduled. |

This time of year you don't expect it. It happens and you just got to take it in stride. If it wasn't a charter I would of probably stuck it out and tried a few more spots, but I could see they weren't having any fun and the are a good clients. Like Clint aways says." A man has to know his limitations'!
