talapia and carp?
i need major help picking flies!
I have been sight casting to carp and tilapia and have not gotten a bite. i have probally thrown five hundred perfect casts and they will not bite it! some suggestion on flies would be awesome! if you could tell me what they eat i might be able to make some sort of fly that looks like it... thanks...

Jake... tilapia? Are you in south florida?
Google amur or grass carp... I think that is what you might be seeing. They are tough on the fly. Primarily vegetarians... throw grass clippings in the water and see if they boil on them.

Wait till the talapia bed then cast your fly right in the middle of it's nest. Set the hook when they pic it up to push it away and there you go. Caught many in a pond behind my old apartment when I got board one day. Other than that I have no idea what to do, go catch bass instead.

thanks for the help.. i will try next year. yes, they are tilipia. The locals said that is what they stock the pond with. i will post some pics of them in the water soon.
