Speckle Trout

Hi guys, sorry that I have not posted in a while but things have been kinda of crazy. Fishing out of Harkers Island (Cape Lookout) for False Albacore and Speckle Trout, both which have been pretty good as of late. Today I hade Jim Shvlin of Temple Fork Rods and his friend John Smyth Trout fishing both with citation Trout. Posting pictures from here is a pain in the butt but I thought these worth it. Now I have to go tie flys for tomorrow...

John with his showing facial...

Jim with his 4 pound 2 oz Trout...

Very Nice fish. What kind and color flies were they taking? Beautiful looking fish. We usually get a shot of them about this time of year up here, but so far I have not seen or heard of any being taken. Think the stripers ate them all up. Looks like it was a bit cold down there too.

YEAH BUDDY.

That's a slob speck on the fly.

Pretty work Capt. Lee.

No worries on the lack of reports, we know you're out there doing it up.

Where were those fish taken??.......Sum river.....

Capt. Lee........fully aware that neither camera was operational.....so be it......4lb specs (and reds) on the fly were a gas. I still enjoy your response to my inquiry as to where we were going.........all that I heard was "Sum River". hahahhahaaah. That was "Sum River"........dang, shoulda brought the GPS!....just kidding. Thanks so much for the phenomenal outing.......eventually I'll figure "sum" fly pattern to beat your MirroLures.......at present, you still beat the fly at 3 to 1. Those odds will change next outing...........I'll do away with #4 hooks on those soft mouths, maybe even keep the barbs intact...............I really enjoyed you releasing the bigguns that came over the gunnels late in the day.........with my new hooks, I'll bet some of them might go to the pan next round...........and feed the "needy".........."Capt Lee, what was her name, anyway???"
