South Jersey Coastal Fly Anglers Fishing Day

Had a fun morning with the members of SJCFA. We got 15 members to show up at 6:00 am this morning for a back bay fly fishing trip. Not a bad turnoud considering the forcast of strong winds and rain. It was very cold. We had no rain, a strong north wind and the sodbanks were flooded over with the new moon tides and the tide was still coming in.

We fished till arond 11:30. There were 3 stripers to about 25 inche caught along with a number of sea hearing. Clouser a deceiver type flies seemed to work the best.

Here is Dave Gelona with a striper that he caught right next to me, after only fishing for 15 minutes right before we were ready to quit for the day.

Personally I used bunker flies and only had one strike. It was a cold fun morning and everyone enjoyed fishing together.
