OC FISHING REPORT!

left dock at 9 30. as calm as a lake. on board was my dad, brad regan (brad regan 01) and boz jefferson. first we headed out to a shoal ten miles off. nothing. heading to another shoal and started to see some bird activity.
what we do is troll and when we mark them on the bottom machine we stopp and start jigging and flyfishing. we saw a really good mark on the machine and both rods that we were trolling go off. brad and boz pitch bucktails. we ended up getting a quadrople header on 31 in rockfish, but this was just the beggining. every one started jigging and i went to the bow to throw the long rod. on my second cast, using a half and half on floating line w/ my new finnor real from one more cast, i hooked into one. turned out to be the biggest fish of the day. 35 inches, 15 lbs.

this is me with my new fly reel from OMC prefoming the dave s. rod holder.

this is brad with a nice 29 in rock

after i caught that fish i started filming and taking pics. we ended the day at 2 30 with 17 bluefish, 8-12 lbs. and 18 rockfish, 27 inches-35inches. too bad we were past the three mile line, we could have kept all of the rockfish except one. it was a beautiful day and we all had lots of fun!

should have more pics and video soon!

Hey Jake.. that reel never looked better buddy. The smile on your face says it all. Couldn't be happier that you are using it. It'll stop a u-boat. I think it'll be a collectors item at some point. They haven't made them for years. Look up Finnor Wedding Cake on ebay.. that reel isn't a wedding cake but it's a finnor.
Now.. I can't take a stance on where you are fishin.. but I real happy you got to feel that pull Jake. Ocean stripers fight so much harder in nice cold water.
Hope you guys can make tiefest again this year.
