Got skunked...

...but had a good time.

Dad and I took tuesday to do a little fishing, duck spot scouting, and just plain ole relaxing on the water time.

I heard a few decent reports of some light tackle and fly action so we hooked up the boat and headed south and east.

Launched and ended up not catching a damn thing. If I was looking at the lowrance correctly I found them and the bait they were after but couldn't buy a bite. I have to honestly say I could have tried a little harder, but just not being at work was good enough for me.

anyway.

snapped two B&W pics I thought I'd share.

enjoy!

Too bad about not catching, but a day on the water is still a good day. What is the structure? Looks like a place that would hold some fish. You will get them next time.

That's the north end of Tangier sound. Sharkfin Shoal. It is on a submerged rockpile w/ a few wrecks around it. Plenty of birdshit too. There was a bunch of bait on the pile, either I couldn't get the right drift or the fish just weren't there or feeding.

The bait seemed to like my clouser...they were schooling up with it.

I did see another boat in the morning who slayed some croaker with bait...i think....They didn't speak english and sure as hell didn't read the limits. That is unless you can keep a bushel of croaker for two men.

OMC-

It was an ugly scene...two Polacks running around in a duck boat not sure what the fish finder was telling them and not figuring out why the fish weren't biting. HEHEHE

I didn't see your boat at the marina and figured you were out fishing.

In 8 days I'll gladly join you if you're up to showing me how to find fish

Hope all is well buddy...don't work too hard.

Dave did you put in at Elliot or Roaring Point? That gets to be big water in a duck boat. I hunt the lower Nantikoke frequently.

put in at Elliott first then moved to crocherton.

My boat isn't the most comfortable ride when it's nasty, but it'll get me home. I young and stupid enough to not care about the sore back part.

I end up out on the Nanticoke a few times a season but haven't truely hunted it but once with Jeff many moons ago.

Did scull my way along FB WMA up to big/little greens cove from that ramp back in the marsh. that's a long damn ride in a little piss ant sculler with a 3.5hp and your oar.

found a massive flock of ruddies and one hen can. Never fired a shot.

Where you going on tuesday morning?

Still looking at the maps. I'm not sure I'm going to bother yet. I have a lease
in Maddison (Dorch) and several free goose spots in Carrol Co. Between that and the public marsh I can stay busy.

I have thought about the Honga but boat access is limited.

I'm headed to either Talbot or Worchester. You can never have enough spots.
