I'm looking for rod holders for the boat since the fly gear doesnt fit in the standard holder on the boat. I think I saw an adapter that birdsall makes for rocket launchers etc... let me see if I can find it

Here is what I saw

Birdsall Fly rod holder

but for running or storage I would be more inclined to find a holder for under the gunwale ...something to secure the reel so it doesn't slap around

Those birdsall holders look nice

I have shelves down the side of my boat and just put the neoprene cover on the reels. I use the floor quite a bit too.

You can fabricate your own w/ pvc.

Here's a pic of both ends of a custom job I found elsewhere.



It's good to have bungees to hold the rod/reel down.
