Copperhead to the rescue
I had a trip Friday with a customer that had never caught a saltwater fish on a fly before and he really wanted to catch a redfish. So I took him back in the marsh and hoped for the best. By the way, I also had to help him with his casting since he mostly fly fished in fresh water and didn't cast very far. Luckily there was very little wind and he was a quick learner. We ended up having one of the best 1/2 days fly fishing that I have had a long time.
The water was a little dirty so I decided to tie on one of Randy Hamiltons original Copperhead Flies. And that seemed to do the trick quite well! He caught 10 out of 12 reds in about 2 hours, and I never had to move the skiff until it was time to go home. He also caught 2 ,19 inch flounder to top things off!
