Chesapeake Report

Headed out w/ my old man today to try a few spots.

Slow in the morning with a decent chop. Caught enough to keep us interested, then my fly line started slowly going in the wrong direction. One strip strike later, and he knew he was hooked and decided to make me do the line dance and do a circle around the boat.

Caught on a 2/0 Bucktail Deceiver that I tied w/ a tail that I shot and dyed Yellow.

I was beginning to get a complex and thought that maybe the pale yellow wasn't the ticket. Turns out I was wrong. Ended up with 3 fish on the fly and Drew had 7 on jigs. His biggest was 38", Mine is the one pictured.

Beautiful fish Dave! It has been a while since we have had any nice fish like that around. Those fish could hold my interest. I would settle for one of those anyday. Thanks for the report and great Pics.

Couldn't find the same fish yesterday. The outgoing tide was ugly water, filled with pollen and my head and chest are proving it today.

Caught two fish one 16" and one 21" on the fly right off the bat. Then they just downright quit. Couldn't get a decent drift with the tide against the wind, and it just plain stunk. Marked the fish and couldn't get them to play.

Maybe next time.
