Cape Lookout heating up!

No that the water temperatures are starting to warm up some the fly fishing is starting to pick up. Yesterday there were good catches of Atlantic bonito on some of the artificial reefs just off the beach. Chartreuse and white half and halfs seemed to work well on the bonito, along with 300 gr. full sinking lines to get down a little bit. The redfish are still doing well back in the marshes. Black with gold flash Clouser minnows are working for the redfish.

Capt. Joe,
I will be down on Harkers Island next weekend fishing offshore on Sat. What should we target? You may not remember, but you rigged ballyhoo for us last summer.

Thanks,
Chad Nicholls

If the weather is pretty, I would go offshore of the 90 ft. Drop and look for some Wahoo and yellowfin. There are plenty of kings around the 14 Bouy and around the Atlas Tanker on the eastside. CAll me a few days before you come down or e-mail me and I will let you know whats going on closer to the time you will be here.
