6/6 True Novice wacks 6 Tarpon on FLY

This week is Robert Nguyen 3rd annual Tarpon excursion with me. This guy loves flyfishing, the last two years have been poductive for him, with many jumped Tarpon from 25 to 80 lbs. Last year he had about a 75 lber break one of his brand new fly rods and landed about a 26 inch snook in the same night.
All in all it has been a little frustrating for this Flyfishing novice, not beeing able to put a silver king in the boat for a photo. After all he lives in San Francisco and only gets to fish once or twice a year.

Well this was his night, he went 6 for 9, four of them where on his 9 wt.

Congrats Robert, there are world class Flyfisherman that would love to come home with that ratio UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!

thanks for sharing the report and pics with us.

I caught my first Poon on the fly this spring and am hooked forever. I can honestly say there isn't another fish out there that I've caught that can compare.

Hello my name is Dave and I'm addicted to Tarpon!!!!

Nice pics. Thanks for the report. I love the way the light is reflecting of the fish.
