It's been quite a few years since I was there, but it is nice country and loaded with Walleye and Norhern Pike. Spring might be a little early to go, since the ice is just melting off the lakes. Don't go too late because the Black Fly's will eat you alive!
The last week of May- the first few weeks in June are good. Hope this helps! |

Personally I would continue a little further north. Up in the Sharbot lake area (About an hour north of Kingston)
There is a nice hotel right at Sharbot lake. I prefered to fish the backwoods lakes and ponds. HUGE smallies and if you pick the right spot some pretty good pike as well. Right after ice out is the best for pike up in the skinny water. The best for smallies is around the end of june begining of july. I could get out an old map and tell you what exact lakes I used to hit. Most were dirt roads for miles dead ending at a lake. Untouched and loaded with smallies in the 3-4lb class on average and a few 5-6 lbers to be had. All of the lakes I fished there were within a short drive of the Sharbot Lake hotel. PM me if you want some more detailed info and I'll see what I can dig out. My father in law keeps his boat in Wesley Island (Basically Clayton) IMO it is a nice family area to visit but the fishing is OK at best. Lots of traffic and a lot of water to figure out. You are better off in the unpressured smaller waters. Hope it helps. Tight lines, Bob
