Marlin trip 6-26-07

I love a father son trip. This is how our culture and ideals are passed thru the generations. Greg and Ian are from St. louis, Missouri. They wanted to catch a marlin. There are plenty of marlin off Hatteras at present. We had a blue and a white in the baits but failed to hook up. In the early afternoon, a nice blue grabbed the lure and streaked out 500 yards of line. Greg fought the fish until he was just off the boat and we were within one foot of the leader. The fish rolled his head and the hook pulled. No flag flying today but a great day.
