Winter Flounders, 2 days 2 limits... 3-24 / 3-25
left the dock with Capt Kangaroo aka JR and with the one and only Flounder Terrorist Joey of past Seahunter Fame.... first drop was uneventful for the first hour.... a little wiggle made all the difference..... I had a fish on immediatly and dropped it as it popped off when it hit the chum pot line.... dropped back down and boxed a jumbo bay flattie right away..... from that point on the pick continued through the day... catch 3 or 4 wait 20 mins... and so on...... fish were taken both on the bounce and dead stick.... on both clams and sandworms.....chummed heavy..... and the 3 man limit closed out the day with more than a few fishing going 18 inches or better the most important lesson of the day came after I, for the first time ever, took a hook past the barb into my finger.... and this lesson would be... that Puerto Rican Capts CAN'T COUNT TO 3....... 3-25-08 got out again today with Joey the Flounder Terrorist.... Shame no one else wanted to go as it was back to the Honey Hole for round 2 and an easy 2 man limit..... only one short today... and the fish were bigger than yesterday.... From the ones i cleaned at home there were 2 big fat ladys who still had mad roe in da bag,,,,, roe was very light colored which i have been told means its early roe not yet ready to blow out so thats a good sign for things to get better and better..... fished chewed hard today not lethargic like yesterdays slamfest.... ALL fish fought from bottom to top..... again they prefered the sands but were caught on clam also..... Back out on Friday....... So if ya dont know now ya know..... |
