THINKING OF HEADING DOWN TOMORROW AND FISHING THURSDAY AND FRIDAY IN THE BACK BAYS. ANY GOOS FISHING GOING ON? IS IT WORTH MAKING THE TRIP DOWN?

Lotta flatfish around. Gulp 4" swimming mullets are the ticket. Find the clean water and you can score some pretty descent fish. Tip of the jetty has plenty of rockfish if you have live spot, and the 50 bridge at night has been loaded tossing storm shads.
I've certainly been weeding thru the shorts, but always can some nice keepers. my trips have been more like 30-40 fish with 7-9 keepers...
You have to fish bigger baits an more remote holes/cuts.
Anyone have room for one more??I haven't fished back bays since I left Florida a few years ago, i miss it!
Good Luck guys![]()
The bigger fish are around. If all you catch are shorts move and try another hole. Bigger baits.
try the east channel...near the coast guard and harbor island....spot are plentiful and tons of rock at the south jetty.
Where you guys finding the spot. They are not up in the upper reaches of the bay off our dock like they normally are this time of year??
