Lotta flatfish around. Gulp 4" swimming mullets are the ticket. Find the clean water and you can score some pretty descent fish. Tip of the jetty has plenty of rockfish if you have live spot, and the 50 bridge at night has been loaded tossing storm shads.

I've certainly been weeding thru the shorts, but always can some nice keepers. my trips have been more like 30-40 fish with 7-9 keepers...

You have to fish bigger baits an more remote holes/cuts.

The bigger fish are around. If all you catch are shorts move and try another hole. Bigger baits.

I had no problem finding good amounts of spot the other day . The thing was that they would be eaten by blues too quickly . I caught 5 flounder with no keepers in about 3 hrs. All fish were caught on tandem jig heads with 4" Gulp Swimming minnow in Chartreuse .
