    Washington Canyon 6/19/10

Fished just north of the Washington Canyon Saturday, looking for those YFT. There were TONS of boats out there, but that's it. No bait, no turtles, no porpoise, no whales, and certainly no fish. We saw a couple of birds, but they were just sitting on the water. The canyon was as DEAD as I've ever seen it. We didn't even get a knock-down.

Bro you had to run right over 'em coming out of OCMD. They were stacked up pretty good at the poorman's. We put two in the box for dinner before pushing out deep looking for whitey.

The good news is the season has just started!!! It's only going to get better! No worries!

I talked to a few boats that fished the Poormans, with the same results as us. Nada. Nice to hear that someone found 'em. There weren't many flags flying at the inlet.

Fished the poormans sat, tons of boats.. Put one YFT in the box around 1 on a purple cedar plug.. Sam a nice blue marlin crusing next to the boat under the starboard rigger but wanted nothing to do with the tuna spread.. Slow day for us 1 pull 1 tuna...

    Did a little better

Started 50 fathoms just north of the Washington on some feeding porpoise. No love. Trolled out a little deeper seeing more porpoise and pilot whales.
The only action was at about the 820 line about 110 fathoms at about 10:45. Got covered up ! Had at least five on maybe six. We manged 3 40 to 50 # yellowfins in the box. Could of had more but only had three people on board. Small spreader bars and ballyhoo combos with sea witches and small lures. I would think they would attack anything if they get behind the boat. Left at 1:00 for the beach. Weatherman was spot on with the forecast. Great day on the water.
