Voyager Point Pleasant fishing report 5-9

With the nice forecast for Friday and the poor weekend forecast we ended up with a nice crowd for yesterday's COD trip. The fishing was pretty good with lot of action on both keepers and shorts. Everyone on board caught a bunch of COD (not all keepers) and managed from 1-8 keepers. Even I got into the action catching 6 keepers and 9 throwbacks. We had some nice fish in the 8-20 pound range but most keepers were in the 4-6 pound range. John Peters of Newark, DE won the pool with a beautiful 20 pound COD.

It looks like a new body of fish has moved in to the area as there was more life on the wrecks this week with fish of varying sizes. We are going to keep sailing for COD as long as they keep biting. Its nice to catch COD in shorts and T-shirts. We will be fishing this coming Friday morning at 6AM and we will probably add in a weekend day for those that can't make a weekday. I'm not sure which day it will be but I'll decide towards the end of the week based on weather and e-mail everyone.

A few people have already asked about booking offshore SEA BASS trips in November and December. Technically the Mid Atlantic Council and NMFS have to sign off on the proposed dates. After that happens we will post our NOV-DEC. SEABASS schedule.
