The Voyager will be running an open boat STRIPED BASS JIGGING SPECIAL on Thanksgiving Day. The boat will be sailing at 6:30AM and will return by 12:30PM. The fare is $55 for adults, $50 for seniors and $30 for children. No reservations are required.

We made our first trip to the offshore SEA BASS grounds yesterday. Even though it is very early in the offshore season we saw a decent mix of SEA BASS, PORGIES, LING, POLLOCK, and COD. George Hanakis of Perth Amboy won the SEA BASS pool with a 5 pound fish and Mel Deak of Perth Amboy won the edible bottom fish pool with a 25 pound POLLOCK. We did not have any limits but most people had between 10 and 20 fish and a few had more than that. Fishing should improve each week as the water temperature falls and the migration gets into full swing.

New information from our "friends" at NMFS indicates that there will probably be no chance at a directed SEA BASS fishery for the next year if not longer (projected limits of 1, 2 or 5 fish per person) . Anyone who thinks we will be fishing offshore for SEA BASS this January, February, or March is dead wrong. If you want to go, its now or never. We have a number of trips scheduled through the end of December. You can check availability at http://www.voyagerfishing.com/html/trip_calendar.html . If you are interested please e-mail me at http://www.voyagerfishing.com/html/contact_us.html .

We still have a few spots open for tonight's offshore trip if anyone is interested.
