Mommy & Me & Owl Makes Three
March 3 from 9:30 to 11 a.m.; $1 per person
Cunningham Falls State Park, 14039 Catoctin Hollow Road, Thurmont (Frederick County)
This program will take place on the first Wednesday of every month in the Manor Area Visitors Center and is appropriate for children 5 and under. Moms and Dads can join in on the fun during a 30 to 45 minute program filled with nature–themed stories, songs, puppets, crafts, and a visit from a very special friend. Donations are welcome. Survival Day

Bad Bad Plants

Patapsco Valley State Park, 5254 South Street, Halethorpe (Baltimore County)
Have you ever thrown a dead plant outside? Find out if this practice is harmful. Also, enjoy a walk to discover invasive species. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes. TEAM DNR Volunteer Training
March 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; free
Tawes State Office Building, 580 Taylor Avenue, Annapolis (Anne Arundel County)
DNR is seeking interested adults to become TEAM DNR volunteers. Volunteers should have an outgoing personality and a strong desire to protect the Chesapeake Bay. No prior teaching experience is necessary. Currently, TEAM offers schools free classroom programs on the following topics: Chesapeake Bay watershed, streams, oyster reefs, horseshoe crabs, and chesapeake watermen. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch. Beverages and snacks will be provided. For information, call 410-260-8828.
