Talking SUPPORT THE BOOBIES - Sportfishermen.com

After a tad rough start to the week, losing one boat to a verado issue and now we have the blue 33 sportfishermen.com rocketship loaded up headed up the parkway to Trump Marina for the Ladies Invitational Bluefish Tournament to Support Breast Cancer.

    http://www.fishlibt.com

Hoping Admin isn't gonna be a sissy and come fish with us tmrw but John John is a busy busy man..So its a 50/50 at this point. I think we may have to hog tie him with duck tape and stuff em in the console overnight. The man really needs to come out relax enjoy the girls and get out on the boat.

Tomorrow's crew consists of Hopefully Capt. John Eppehimer, Capt Jason Roesch and a bunch of my childhood and high school best friends and a few new comers.

Looking forward to a great day on the water with some great friends!

    May the biggest fish win!!

See ya all tonight at the captains meeting.

ps. Please come John John and fish your baby with us! Thank you so much for bailing us out!

Also I think we are already down a girl and if someone has the time to go and would like to come along boat is leaving 5:30 from Trump Marina. Call me on my cell 609-713-5540

Sorry for the late update. The event made for a very long weekend.

Saturday morning we set sail from Trump Marina, set out for some big choppers.

After finally arriving at the Barnegat Ridge, we setup and out on the troll. This was my 1st targeting bluefish trip, and having the girls on the boat for their 1st fishing trip in many years. I felt the pressure was on. I know bluefish will eat a beer can in the water but wasn't sure I could do it.

After putting together a universal spread of stretches, single spoon on wire, and 2 umbrella rigs the wait was on. The wait turned out to be very short, and within 15 mins the 1st bluefish was in the boat. Then came the 2nd 3rd 4th and the massacre of me running around dropping fish on the deck. We kept 9 boated over 15

The girls did very well and were on their game, no coaching, no nothing they were on it.

We had the boxes full and happy very early and were back in to the dock by noon to wait for the scales to open 2

We figured we were close to being in the money, but where we ended we were out 2/10ths of a pound from being in some sort of money.

Our weights were 11.59, 10.14, 11.61 so close but so far away. I think it was a 13.4 that took home 1st.

The banquet was beautiful last night, just a little too long.

It was nice to learn how big of an event this really was, and learning that 62k was raised for breast cancer

Thank you all for making this a special day and thank you to all the tournament committee members of the LIBT and boats that make this tournament what it is. Very cool!

We will be back next year for another crack at it.
