Striper's in NJ?
Heading out of Manasquan tomorrow on a buddy's boat, any word on where we could find a few Striper's to put in the box? It's the first time he's had his boat out this year, so I'd like to get him started on good note if possible...
Not expecting much info on current action, since its been pretty tough going out there the past few days, but any information would be appreciated. Figured we go in search of some bunker or perhaps troll for a little while.
I have been going out Barnegat this year, so I'm not familiar with action up north this year.
If any one is going out, let me know what Channel you'll be on we'll keep you posted if we get into anything.
It's a bit of a run bit I've heard they've started at the tip of Sandy Hook. Night time is best up there. Too many boats during the day, but if you are going during the try Ambrose Channel or something deep where the fish can hide from the boat traffic.
Can you throw a 12' or longer cast net? If so, try looking for schools of bunker in 15' to 25' adjascent to channel edges, and tossing for them. Live bait 'em (some on bottom, some on top) and you'll get the night-quality bites durign broad daylight.
