Kingfish are being caught in the surf along the Wildwood beaches.
Wildwood Crest down to the Inlet has been best. An occasional Striper is still being caught in the surf. In the Back bays there are still plenty of Flounder, lots of shorts, but still some nice keepers being caught. Steve Dyl of Wildwood, NJ weighed in a 5 pound 15 ounce Flounder caught while drifting a Tsunami Squid near Grassy Sound on his boat "On the Roc's". Seven year old Adrienne Miskiewicz of Logan Township, NJ weighed in her first ever Flounder that tipped the scales at 3 pounds 6 ounces. Adrienne caught the fish on a live Minnow while drifting on Mom's "Anger Management" in the Wildwood Back Bay. There is good Flounder fishing in the Delaware Bay along the shipping lanes near Miah Maull. Flounder reports from the Reefs were sketchy this week, as boats are busy searching for their Duke of Fluke Hotspots, but fish were caught at Reef Site 11 and the Old Grounds. There are still quite a few throwbacks, but there are reports of fish up to 7 pounds being caught. Mark Tallarida of Aldon, PA weighed in a 5 pound
2 ounce Sea Bass caught at the Cape May Reef. Turk Mihalek of Pennsauken, NJ weighed in a 6 pound 6 ounce Flounder caught at Reef Site 11 on an Aqua Clear Rig while fishing on the "Mad Money" out of Wildwood.
Canyon fishing has kicked into gear. Nice water has moved into the Spencer Canyon area and is moving south. Catches of Yellowfin Tuna, Dolphin, White and Blue Marlin are being reported.
Crabby Jack gives the crabbing 3.5 Claws this week with nice catches of keeper crabs.
