Sterling Harbor Bait and Tackle Fishing report, Wildwood, 10-10
Sea Bass fishing was excellent over the weekend at the Reefs, however the season closes on October 11, 2010, and remains closed until November 1, 2010. Tog fishing has been excellent off the jetties, bridges, and inshore wrecks. Green Crab is the bait of choice.
In the Delaware Bay, Weakfish up to 20 inches are being caught near the No. 1 Buoy. In the back bays, small Stripers are being caught on Clam, small soft plastics and top water plugs and the action should improve as the water temperature cools. Surf fishing off the Wildwood beaches slowed over the weekend, but there were some reports of small Bluefish, and occasional small Bass using small plugs or soft plastics. Offshore, there is Tuna and Mahi-mahi at the Canyons making their way south. Crabby Jack says the crabs are still around, and gives the crabbing 4 Claws this week. The 2011 Hobie Kayaks have arrived. Stop by to take a test ride or call 609-729-1425 for more information.
Hey guys and gals, sorry for the lack of fishing reports for the past few weeks, George and I went kayak fishing in Virginia two weekends ago, and we had to run out last Sunday to deliver kayaks from Stone Harbor to Atlantic City. It was too late by the time we got home.
(Also, our helpers are now back to high school and college leaving just us old farts to cover he store.) I'll try my best to keep the reports coming now!
