I will be in touch, thanks so much...we will be needing donations from whomever can donate. I will have everything finalized...it's a go for opening day...Fred Ulhman from Jersey Cape Fishing will be doing his Opening Day Flounder TV Show around this tourney as well.

I'm trying to locate a place to hold a "beef" and "beer" but cheap.. so people can if they want go in and win raffle prizes...all raffles proceeds will go to ssfff too.

Thanks man I will be in touch!

Holwachagot, the best thing you can do is spread the word about SSFFF and push people to donate. It's honestly a case of money talks, BS walks. They are fighting NMFS on a science and research level and need to pay for it, and also lobbying to help get the MSA changed to fix the problem. Both cost money.

The other thing that is helpful is writing local congressmen and senators to provide support for a review and amendment to MSA. The tough part there is that even if the affected states are on board, the majority of congress comes from other regions where this isn't an issue. It's gonna take some lobbying and pressure to make that change happen.

The big thing is that a change in MSA would look at the hard rebuilding targets and look for room for compromise when the economic impacts aren't justified by the situation. This has far-reaching implications in other fisheries.
I'm with you on the multi port thing. I do most of my flatfishing on the Raritan Bay and know of a bunch of guys that would participate if they could fish locally.

I'm sure that I could get a couple of the bait shops up here to work the scales. I think that the biggest problem would be trying to make sure that the fishing stays in the back country.

This is a great cause and I would be glad to speak with some of the local shops up here to see what the intrest would be. (they stand to loose more then anyone as this is their biggest income producer due to the distance of the offshore grounds from this area.)

Let me know if you would consider doing a multi port tourny and I will be glad to do the leg work on the weigh in stations.

I've got a thread going on TBB and I didn't update this one....the tourney is opened up to anyone and everyone...you can fish the db,you can fish old grounds, you can fish wherever...I was originally keeping it straight back bays...but opening it up to get more people involved...

Again it isn't about who wins this thing...it's about how many people we can get to enter...all of this proceeds go to SSFFF

Keeping it simple, keeping it 1 weigh in spot.

Thanks
