Never thought when I woke up Friday morn that I'd be going fishing on one of the busiest weekends for the shop, Memorial Weekend (and understaffed). Bruce (Zero Tolerance) and Capt. Hook Leconey (knowing I'd never caught a drum yet) kindly invite me to join them. I'm thinking "no way possible", my husband Chuck tells me to go right ahead. . . I go back and forth between yes/no, yes/no (I know just like a woman) for the next 1/2 hour. Finally, Chuck says "Go ahead, I've got everything under control"; alright then, I get my gear.
Needless to say, having two awesome fishermen with me, I not only get my first but also my second drum. We caught the first one (not far from Admin) around 7 and then after we made a move to another spot around 9. We stayed out there till about 11 but not before we watched John and Charles on Sportfishermen.com (who moved with us) boat two drum themselves.
Thanks again Bruce and Hook, what a way to play hookie . . . catch drum and learn from two awesome fishermen!
Thanks guys; Surfergirl I did ask the guys if my hubby paid them to take me for a LOOOOOONG ride out Miles, I never want to hear from someone that "Drum don't fight" . . .they're a bullheaded fish!
