Left OC about 6am with rough waters.Took til 8:15 to get 25 miles out.Only my second shark trip.First was unsuccessful.This trip was a little different.Had my father(never been sharkin')and 2 buddies(1 has never been sharkin)with me.Had the first shark hooked up about 45 minutes after the first bait was dropped.Swivel touched rod tip within 15 minutes.Was sitting on livewell in center of boat.Decided not to gaff due to size and greenness and stories heard.Fish dives.....under boat......me too slow......line(not leader) touches.......need I say more?2 1/2 hours later deep rod tip starts to movin.......loosen drag..........tighten drag.....FISH ON!!Passed rod off to give others the experience never had.45 minutes later put a nice blue shark in the boat and called it a day.Ride home was much shorter.
