The sea surface temperature off of Cape Cod Bay, Vineyard Sound, Block Island, and Long Island Sound is currently 68°F. There is a cold water front off of the southern coast of Long Island that is currently 66-67°F. This cold water front can be found along 41°N and between 72°W and 71°W. The sea surface temperature along the coast of New Jersey and northern Delaware is currently 73°F. As you move east off the coast the sea surface temperature gradually increases to first 76°F, then increases to 81°F, and then 85°F once you hit the Gulf Stream. The temperature in the Delaware Bay increases to 77-79°F. The sea surface temperature off of the coast of southern Delaware and North Carolina has increased to 78-80°F.There is a warm water system off of the coast of North Carolina located at 36.8°N and 75.5°W that is carrying sea surface temperatures of 81°F. The Chesapeake Bay is reporting sea surface temperatures between 78 and 81.5°F.
