    Sea Surface Report Hatteras to Florida 9-1

    The sea surface temperature off of Cape Cod Bay, Vineyard Sound, and Block Island is currently 74-77°F. The sea surface temperature off of the coast of Long Island and the Mouth of the Hudson Bay has increased to 80-83°F. The sea surface temperature along the coast of northern New Jersey is currently 77-80°F. Although the temperatures of the Gulf Stream are the same temperature as the coastal water, the swirl of the eddy is still noticeable. The top of this Gulf Stream swirl rests at 39.5°N and 72°W that is carrying sea surface temperatures between 77-81°F. The west edge of this warm water eddy has migrated towards the coast of New Jersey and currently rests at 73.5°F. The temperature in the Delaware Bay increases to 78-82°F. The average sea surface temperature off of the coast of southern Delaware and North Carolina has increased to 78-82°F. The Chesapeake Bay is reporting sea surface temperatures between 84°F. The warm Gulf Stream waters are wrapping around the colder coastal waters creating some small cold water eddies. The most noticeable cold water eddy is located at 37.5°N and 73.2°W and is carrying sea surface temperatures between 78-80°F.
