    Sea Surface Report Hatteras to Florida 6-28

    The warm water from the Gulf Stream has moved toward the coast increasing the sea surface temperature along the north Atlantic. The sea surface temperature along the coastline of Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and northern New Jersey is currently between 72 and 75°F. The coastline of southern New Jersey and Delaware has a slightly warmer sea surface temperature, between 76 and 82°F.The sea surface temperature off of the coast of North Carolina is currently 80 to 85°F. The chlorophyll productivity map shows that there are high levels of phytoplankton productivity along the coastline of the north Atlantic that dissipate as you move off coast. There is a sea surface low off of the coast of Block Island that is currently 15 cm below sea level. There is another sea surface low off of the coast of North Carolina that is currently 25 cm below sea level.
