Block to Hatteras
The water along the north Atlantic coast is about 45°F. As you move southward towards Delaware the water warms to about 52-55°F. The coast of North Carolina has the warmest water in this region, with a high of 64°F. There is high productivity along the coast of the north Atlantic, especially in the inlets. The sea surface high off the coast of Rhode Island, Connecticut, and Long Island is about 10 cm above sea level. The sea surface low between the coast of south New Jersey and Delaware has become less shallow, with a depth of -5 cm below sea level. The high water system off the coast of North Carolina is still contains the northward protrusion, which is about 10 cm above sea level, but it does not appear to be moving towards the shore.
