Thurs.-Fri. Sep. 22-23: Very good fishing for yellow fin tuna. The night started with little activity due to a steady rain and many anglers choosing not to fish in the rain. The rain stopped before daybreak and the bite began just before 6 a.m. For a solid 2 hours or more there were big yellowfin tunas hooked nonstop. Oftentimes there were 4 and 5 on at once. Most of the tuna were hooked with bait and weighed 70 pounds or more. One angler hooked into 6 big yellowfin. Andrew Muns, Leslie Simonson, David King, Vince Civitano and John Johanesen each landed multiple catches of yellowfins. There are many openings for the remainder of September & through October. Mon-Tues:September 19-20, Offshore: We had to cancel two trips due to the weather forecast and were excited to get back out to the canyons. Welcome Mark, Dimitri and friends! We had more of a day bite this time and once again caught all yellow fin tunas! There were two big battles with swordfish, one lasting for quite some time. There is much tuna life out here.
