It's hard to believe, but not too many years ago, anglers were catching short stripers at Graveling Point on February 22nd! I really do not see that happening this year. I was teasing with one of the hard core Graveling Point anglers yesterday that the first keeper of the 2010 season would be caught on APRIL 2nd. That is my guess at this point.
Time for a reminder, Don't forget this Wednesday the 24th is the March on Washington. As of this morning, Skip at the Chum Bucket says there is still room on the bus!

We the fisherman of the State of NJ have to try to take our fishery back from the Federal Government, and their failed sciences.
On February 24, 2010 the RFA, and United Boatmen of NJ, and orginazations from other states have scheduled a MARCH on Washington.
The Chumbucket has leased a bus for the trip, and the cost is $30 per head. We have some door prizes donated that we will give away on the bus.
The Bus leaves The Chumbucket at 8am on Wednesday 02/24/2010, the Rally on the Capitol steps will begin at 12pm and end at 3 pm. At that time the buses will reload and head back to their home states.
Hopefully we can get some attention, and it will do some good. Sign up come along, you can talk fishing and politics all day. Bring a lunch, or call the Gourmet Deli in West Creek, and tell them your interested in the box lunch they will be preparing for those that want.
We really need to get our fishing rights back, or we are going to loose them all. You may wind up selling your gear and buying.....godforbid.....golf clubs.
