A handful of anglers worked a lot of miles on the ocean today and found plenty of marks on the fish finder, but couldn't put any fish in the coolers. The bass were balled up, but anglers couldn't make them bite. They tried stretch 25+ and all types of metals including the ava's with the green tails and the six ounce hopkins with a white tail. None of it worked today. Could be just the temperature drop that has the fish off the bite today. A few days to even out and it is likely to really turn on. Don't think it's over; all we need is the right weather and there will still be some more catching before it's over.

Winter is here. Hard South West winds blew the tide out today and put skim ice on our back lagoon. Anglers were nonexistent and it is fair to say I didn't expect to see anyone today anyway. Time will tell what fishing still exists after the cold and blow. I would expect to see this helping ball up the bass on the ocean making for better jigging and trolling conditions. This weather didn't effect any bottom water temperatures at sixty feet, so expect the tog fishing to still be as good as it gets.
